Families Encouraged to File Their I-600A forms
Wednesday 02 January 2008 at 12:22 pmFollowing the recent unofficial introduction of the I-800 and I-800A U.S. immigration forms, and in preparation for the proposed April 2008 implementation of related processes, HIC is encouraging families considering international adoption from a Hague country, to file their I-600A forms prior to April 2008. Currently, forms filed prior to April 2008 will be grandfathered in, and it is believed that clients may experience an easier pre adoption process. It is anticipated that the U.S. will fully implement the Hague Convention in April 2008, at which time all new Hague related processes will take full effect.
URGENT Information Regarding I-171 H and Fingerprinting Clearances
Wednesday 02 January 2008 at 12:00 amHIC urges all clients to renew their I-600A applications and fingerprinting prior to expiration in order to maintain consistent I-171H approvals and up to date fingerprints. Allowing these clearances to lapse will result in challenges for clients attempting to redo them at a later date. Only those clients who maintain consistent approvals will receive “grandfathered” privileges and will be spared the added burden of meeting new regulatory requirements. Please check your fingerprint and I-171H approval dates and be sure to reapply in advance of expiration.
