General Information Session

For all families wanting an introduction to HIC's adoption programs

HIC general information sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Come find out about our current adoption programs and meet with families who have been through the adoption journey.

Welcome Home Orientation - (WHO)

For all families that have adoption through HIC's international programs.

The WHO course is designed to help newly arrived international adoptive families with the abundance of paperwork contained in the HIC Post Placement Packet. The course will cover your child's citizenship, passport, Social Security, and re-adoption process. Come to the session to receive support and resources to make your post placement process faster and easier.

Parenting Class

Available to all Adoptive Parents

Pre-Adoption education offers parents instruction and guidance in preparing for their child's physical, emotional and developmental needs. It's also a vehicle for a rich network of follow-up resources and support. The classes run for four consecutive evenings from 5:30pm - 7:30 pm and are held at the HIC offic. The cost is $50 per person for HIC program clients and $200 per person/couple for non-HIC program clients.

The next class is scheduled to start on January 16, 2008.

Learn Infant and Child CPR

Infants and children have a much better chance of survival if CPR is performed immediately. HIC sponsors a FREE three-hour class in Infant & Child CPR.  The class is taught by the Honolulu Fire Department.  Reservations are required and enrollment is limited.

The next class is scheduled to start on March 8, 2008.
